Google makes $116.32 Billion in 2018 from its AdWords Product – making it Google’s highest revenue product.

 

The Problem

Every Business knows it needs to advertise in order to gain customers. Many rely on Agencies or 3rd Parties in order to help manage their AdWords and other Ad Products due to the countless number of different variables, knowledge, and time required to turn those ads into revenue for the business. 

Ad Exchanges are built on Real Time Buy-Sell Auction Mechanism where the platform acts as an intermediary between the Advertiser (Buyer) who is willing to Bid up to $x.xx to display their ad and the Publisher (Seller) who has Inventory (Ad Space) to display the ad.

Google having ownership of Google Search, YouTube, DoubleClick, Gmail, and more many, simply sell their own Inventory to Advertisers.

Like any Exchange, where there is a Financial Incentive to win and Variables in place in order to gain a competitive advantage over the competition – has room for manipulation and exploitation of the system.

Agencies who manage Ads on behalf of their Clients should in theory be acting with the best interest and intent of their client.

However, more often than not, this is rarely the case in reality. 

The Large Majority of Ad Agencies charge Clients a Management Fee that is a Percentage based on the Overall Ad Spend of the Client’s Account.

The more that is spent on Ads, the More the Ad Agency makes as Revenue.

– The worst actors are often on the Publisher Side who go to great lengths in order to earn Ad Revenue because the Cost of Living Conversion of their Home Country means a substantial amount of income.

– An overwhelming number of Advertisers on AdWords have not made any changes to their Ads in the last 12 months

– Average Cost Per Click for an Advertiser bidding on the identical keyword has increased on average by 87% Year over Year due to increased Advertiser Competition without any noticeable increase in Conversions

– Businesses who have less Digital Marketing Experience rely heavily on AdWords in order to Generate Revenue for the Business and are slow to diversify their Marketing Spend Elsewhere.

– Law Firms and Insurance see the highest Cost Per Click in the Industry with an average cost of $125.30 for a Single Ad Click
